Premise and Game Info
- ❧ Premise
- Thusia is a panfandom, jamjar, semi-dark, survival-style roleplaying game that can only be reached by the dead. Upon a character's untimely death they are dropped into a building that had once been overrun by dangerous wildlife. They must work together to maintain these new headquarters and make sacrifices to the local gods in the form of actions they find most pleasing. In exchange, the gods provide everything from modern day creature comforts to healing and life.
Thusia is OOCly designed to offer a comfortable, high end roleplaying experience. Whether you are looking to test out a new character or bring in your beloved muse with two years of previous game experience, you are more than welcome. We have an easy in, easy out system to allow people to get characters into the game quickly, and drop without worry if necessary. We accept very close to any type of character, including fandom, OC, and AU. In short, we hope you have a fun and stress-free gaming experience in a world that will evolve from the actions of your character. There is never any leaving Thusia, so we hope you enjoy building your character's new life here. - ❧ Gameplay
- Welcome to Thusia! It's not a land of the dead, but a world of second (or third, or tenth...) chances. The gods of Thusia have dragged the souls of the dead from different worlds and universes and resurrected them here, to re-establish civilization on a world that has been overrun by dangerous nature.
Headquarters is a large, steampunk-themed, castle-esque building that will be your new home for quite a bit. You are welcome to claim living space or even set up a business, if there's room, that is. If not, be prepared to make some friends to find a couch to sleep on. Or failing all else, the hallways are quite spacious and have a wonderful view of the vast open plains flanked by wooded forests, rivers, and mountains. Daily tasks involve combating and clearing out the nature that still overruns several levels of the HQ, and using the spoils to trade with Thusia's unsual array of gods, who accept particular sacrifices as a form of barter. No worries if you're not a fighter, though! The gods are a colorful lot and have a variety of interests. They will accept items ranging from animal guts to declarations of love, or it might be more like a finger off your hand or an act of trust toward a stranger. But don't think you can skirt around dealing with the obnoxious (and often rather crazy) gods that brought you here. Using nature to your advantage is highly encouraged, but don't put anything into your mouth until you've gotten a god to purify it for you. It's painfully poisonous otherwise.
Of course, should you find a god you especially care for, you may be interested in becoming a priest, or maybe you're just willing to accept priesthood in exchange for help with the fact that your powers may be somewhat limited.
Finally, and most unfortunately, there isn't any mention of a way home, and asking the gods about it will reveal little hope of that ever being an option. Everyone who is brought to Thusia is revived from the dead, but sending the souls back to a particular world is much harder than yanking them here at random. In short, this is your new life, and the sooner you accept that you are well and truly dead wherever you are from, the sooner you can move on living here.
This is your home now, and these people are... well, if not family, at the very least your new neighbors. Do try to get along. - ❧ Arrival
- So your character has just arrived in Thusia! But what does that mean? What awaits them, and what happens next?
Well, first of all, there are a few things they might notice!
❧ They died! If your character can't remember their actual death, they will still have the overwhelming and very certain sense that they did die, somehow.
❧ They aren't dead! All wounds caused at the time of their death have been completely healed. Their clothes should also be repaired.
❧ They are completely, 100% alive again. (Unless, of course, they were already dead/undead in some way, in which case they are returned to their pre-'real death' state).
❧ They will arrive surrounded by the god shrines. This is an area on the fourth level that is dedicated to newbie arrivals and god trades. It is also part of a much larger common area so there should be no trouble meeting new faces and seeing what is immediately going on.
❧ They only have the clothes on their backs and two items of some sort. These items may be just about anything small enough to carry on one's person, including weapons. They must be items that the character would have had with them at their time of death. - ❧ Time and Posting Format
- Time in Thusia is determined by poster. Please try to post in a loose order (so if the post before yours is made in the morning, make yours later in the day). Back dating/forward dating is acceptable, but if you do so please mention it in the 'when' section of the posting format.
The purpose of this time format is to allow players and player activity to determine how quickly days move. Overall, Thusia should not move faster than 3 OOC Days = 1 IC Day, but it often moves as slow as 5 OOC Days to 1 IC Day. Players are free to speed things up or slow them down as they see fit.
Posting/playing in Thusia is done in action-style logs.
