Examples: God Apps

Name: Dellen [de-len]

Domains: Water, glass, the protection and creation of humans.

Appearance: Female and physically human appearing, she looks like she is in her 40's and is lean in that 'seriously needs to eat a sandwich' kind of way. She has pale skin and hair that are close to, but not quite, human in color. She has incredibly deep blue eyes. She wears loose, off-white, Grecian-style clothing that makes her look both paler and smaller than she is. Her hair is often in disarray, and her overall appearance often appears untended.

Despite looking small, underfed, and waify, when Dellen isn't having an episode, she has a very commanding and warm presence. There is, at all times, a surprising 'weight' about her that marks her unmistakably as divine.

Characteristics and Personality: Nurturing, monogamous, lesbian, obsessive, demanding, needy, devoted, nonfatal self sacrifice, yandere.

Dellen is the goddess responsible for the birth and creation of humans, as such, in a way any human is someone she considers her child. She wishes to see them blossom, but is simultaneously terrified of losing them. She can be more than a little unhinged, and her idea of 'protection' is to trap those she loves in a bubble so that they can never be harmed. She is generally nonviolent, and only approves of violence in response to anyone or anything trying to harm humanity. She is also incredibly self-sacrificing, and will give up much of herself to the protection of what she loves. As such, she values these qualities in others. If those she wishes to protect resist her, she may resort to a 'mother knows best' sort of twisted love.

Dellen is also, unsurprisingly, prone to moodswings. She can be extremely lucid, and so be caring and helpful in a very genuine way, or she can become lost in sorrow, believing that no one understands how hard she works for them, and how much pain they put her in by not being more careful.

Relationships:
Gerasimos- Does not get along with AT ALL, considers him a douchebag who leads her children into bad decisions for lulz and is generally a corrosive force upon them. Gets cranky every time they talk and periodically he sends her into fits of yan.

Zhen Ji- Considers him youthful and rather stupid, but doesn't hate him because he is representative of a point in life that all of her children must go through. Is tolerant toward him and sometimes bossy, and will overall direct people away from him given the chance.

Likes: Faithful loving monogamous relationships, being understanding of her, sacrifice for the betterment of others, expressions of love (even twisted ones).

Dislikes: Death (human only), poly/orgies/unfaithfulness, material
selfishness, rejection, lack of understanding, talking badly about humans, nature.

Shrine: Pale sandstone slab at ground level, behind it is a stack of precarious sandstone making a narrow pillar. On top of the pillar is a large bowl but with cracks instead of bubbles) filled with crystal clear water. Stand on the slab and place your (CLEAN) hands in the bowl to get her attention. Once the agreement is made, place your sacrifice on the slab and sprinkle some water from the bowl onto it.

Priest/esses:
Expectations: Children of Dellen are expected to live for the security and happiness of all humans. They may never turn their back on a human, whether they are in emotional or physical need, they may never keep for themselves what another human has need of. They are expected to always do what is in their power to help and care for humans, even at personal risk or loss.

Children of Dellen are also expected to live loving and faithful lives with their partners. Sex should not be had unless in a monogamous and committed relationship. The Child should fall in love with only one, and never betray that person, and the Child should never be lead astray or corrupted by seduction of another.

With few possible exceptions, Children will always be human themselves.

Powers Offered: Water magic. Basically, priests have three points to spend either in offensive, defensive, or regeneration spells. They can spend all in one spot for powerful spells, or spread them out for a wider variety. In total they get six spells either way. Offensive and defensive spells will require water, and if the priest brings their own water along they will be able to conserve energy and cast more. Regeneration spells don't require water, but can only be cast on humans.

All children also get some weak water bending. Nothing strong enough to use in combat, but enough to help out with minor conveniences or just make neat tricks.

Treatment: Dellen will be supppper dere with all of her kids, and generally be even more obviously motherly about them, including an expectation that they treat her like a mother as much as she treats them like children. It will be easier to invoke her yandere, and she will basically just closer to them, but also more possessive, whether or not they like it. Children who draw away from her will be treated as you would expect a slightly crazy mother to treat rebellious children! With a mix of 'mother knows best' and 'if you leave this house don't you ever come back!!' and 'don't leave me why do you hurt me like this'. However, she won't ever stay mad unless the Child actually breaks their vows.

Minor broken vows will be met with punishment in the form of apology to whoever was hurt, and menial and gross public service. Larger offenses (such as betraying a lover) will just send Del into a rage and the Child will have to figure out on their own how to earn her forgiveness. Murder of a human, for anything other than self defense/immediate defense of another human would get you permanently outcast.

Examples:
Small: Understanding or desperation for purification or a day or two of running water. (Dellen is extremely easy to emotionally manipulate. If you sympathize with her at a time of need, or are extremely pitiful and are a human, she will basically do small favors for free. These are never long lasting solutions, but it will get most people by in a pinch).

Medium: Healing large wounds down to small wounds for a whole maneater. (Even though it's just one animal, a single animal can usually be broken down to several sacrifices + food. So to give up the entire thing is a pretty sizable offering.)

Large: A faithful, loving marriage for a baby! (Okay I don't expect this to ever be used. But seriously, if you want a kid and you are faithfully bound to a long term monogamous relationship, she can hook you up.)
