HQ Info
- ❧ Headquarters
- HQ is a large building made predominantly of heavy gray stone, rather like the inside of a castle. However, it has been outfitted with more some modern design in the shape of lantern-like light fixtures, metal rafters, or decorative metal molding. There are also more than a few places where formerly large stone rooms have been divided into smaller apartments with wooden walls, and most of the living areas have polished (if beaten) hardwood floors covering the former cold stone ones. The overall effect is rather like a medieval castle under a layer of steampunk accessorizing.
- ❧ HQ's Creature Comforts
- HQ is designed to allow for most modern amenities: showers, flushing toilets, gas stove/ovens, refrigerators, electric lights, as well as some other things. However, all of these little niceties require the benevolence of a god to keep them running. Showers, toilets, and sinks all require regular sacrifices to a god with control of water; lights and refrigerators need electricity, and the stove/oven needs gas.
Gods can be most fickle and most picky, so it is the requirement of people living in an apartment/room to make sure they have recently pleased the necessary gods, or they might find that their showers are ice cold even while everyone else is still enjoying hot water.- If a room has not been lived in before, it is empty, and furniture will need to be either made or gotten from a god (or stolen from another resident). If it was lived in previously and then abandoned, it may still have furniture from the previous residents. For more information on what furnishings can be found in individual apartments and buildings, see the Living & Service Areas page.

HQ is composed of 6 levels. Currently, five of them are more or less accessible, with Level 3 acting as the 'main' level - the one where the majority of Thusians live.
As more levels are uncovered, they will be added to these maps. Maps themselves are updated weekly to account for changes made to nature; however, maps will not be edited to account for smaller individual changes (such as apartment doors or furnishings).
Blackness = unexplored areas OR negative space (on second floors)
Greenness = explored but overgrown area
Black Lines = Walls, usually stone. Wood if interior apartment wall
Blue Lines = Window, or hole where a window goes

- The topmost level of the HQ. It was once hugely overgrown but thanks to being partially cleared the metal girders that create a web-like network above supports thick panes of ...glass? Some material acting as sturdy windowing, and at its pinnacle it is 100 feet up.. However, to the south, where the jungle has not been fully cleared, the glass stops and is replaced by a network of vines instead. The jungle up here is currently being inhabited by red lizagons that have built nests in the trees and on the ground.
This level also contains a small burial ground with three graves. Further south, there is a grove with dead looking trees decorated with old, colorful windchimes made from human bone. The trees grow a particular fruit that lets you briefly connect to the afterlife. In the center of level five is a large concrete circle.
- The ceiling to the 4th Level is about 40 feet up, with all but one building on this level consisting of two stories each, and the apartments themselves further subdivided into a main floor and an attic. There are two large windows on either side of Building D offering a picturesque view of the canopy level of the rainforest, and directly above them are smaller, circular shaped windows, each approximately ten feet in diameter, dotting the wall all the way up to the ceiling. Identical windows are also scattered across any empty areas on the 4th floor's walls. Each of these windows has a latch and can be opened and closed.

Example of Fully Furnished Level 4 Apt
- The apartments on this level are 1br1ba, with a roughly 12 foot ceiling on the main floor and a 6 foot half-story attic above, reached via a ceiling access just outside the bathroom. The attic has no walls, other than the outer wall of each individual apartment, so it is essentially a large loft with a low ceiling that can be used as storage or a room.
- ❧ Shrine Area
- It's the south-eastern end of the HQ on Level 4, between what looks like a huge theater building (D) and an inn called the Q'Tea House & Inn (G). The shrines are set up along the windows in the open area between them. Each has been set up with care, and they are no more crowded together than absolutely need be. The canopy of the giant rainforest trees outside the windows are immediately obvious, day or night, and never stops being a breathtaking view.
Pick a shrine, and speak to the gods.
The Shrine Area is where the shrines of the gods are kept. This is generally where your character will want to go to offer a sacrifice or speak to a god, and also where new characters will first arrive. You can find out more about the Shrine Area here. - ❧ The Fountain
- South from the stairs and apartments, there is an old stone basin for a fountain that is now empty.
- ❧ The Business Structures
- Several indoor buildings litter the grounds in the area closest to the south end of HQ. Initially abandoned, Thusia's current residents have been working to set up businesses within these structures. A full list of which buildings are currently occupied and what businesses have been set up here can be found on the Living and Services Areas page.

- The second story of this level. Much of the black space represents negative area, but this map will show the second floors of the buildings as they are encountered and cleared away. For the most part, the second story of each building closely mimics the first.

- This floor has a 15 foot ceiling and is primarily 2br1ba apartments, with a large open area to the south, which is encased in large windows that offer a spectacular view of the lower canopy area outside. There are also a set of glass doors that can be used to exit to the tree branch highway outdoors.
- ❧ Public Kitchen
- At the east end of the common space is a large kitchen that is fully equipped to act as a mess capable of serving all of the denizens of the HQ, along with several large tables to be sat at.
- ❧ Public Baths
- To the west is a large, enclosed public bathing area, with a cool water stream and waterfall, and several hot springs in the corners.
- Level 2 is about 45 feet high and generally divided into three stories, each slightly under 15 feet. The apartments on this level are all 4br2ba.
- The northern end of Level 2 is dominated by apartments, with a large open area in the center, and to the East there are two, three story rows of mid sized rooms that was probably once a set of shop fronts. The southern end of Level 2 is mostly large, open buildings that are only one floor. The South-Western buildings are all one floor, with large but man-sized doors and are occupied by remnants of old, eaten through machinery, the most recognizable of which are industrial sized washing machines. The large L-shaped building directly South obviously used to be a warehouse and hanger, judging from the massive openings and corroded doors littering the floors inside. In the South-East corner is the Command Center, and a row of smaller rooms that used to be offices, judging from remaining bits of furniture and electronics.
To the south, the large opening where a hanger door ought to go has been partially plugged up with the same stone work as the rest of the building, however it is a half done job and creatures still periodically come in and make homes in the empty southern buildings.

- There are no North-West and North-East corner apartments, instead there is an access hatch to Engines 1 and 2 in each corner. 1A and 1H have been skipped in order to keep the apartment numbering in order with Floors 2-2 and 2-3.

- The second and third stories found on Level 2 are identical, save for the numbering on apartments (the third story would be "3A," "3B," etc, in the exact same placements as floor 2) and the stairs and walkways, which are of course adjusted slightly to suit each story.
Dark gray indicates the interior of a building but not a second or third floor, as these spaces may be divided differently. For example, the warehouse is only one floor, with a 45 foot ceiling, while one of the buildings on the bottom left is divided into two 20ish feet stories.

- Level 1 on a whole is a massive space, with the ceiling being a hundred feet up. The center of the level is completely open, with four interior balcony-like floors that circle the open space and look down into the central area. In the very center of the level is a wide indentation in the ground with worn carvings covering it. Each floor has 14 large rooms, several have old tables and furniture of various materials that have been heavily broken down, suggesting they were used for meetings of some short. Each floor, including the first, also has an exterior balcony, reachable by hallway. The exterior balcony is very large and spacious, some stone benches remain.
- At the southern end of Level 1 is a large open hole, with two great stonework doors that have since fallen off, but it is clear they were once delicately carved. The doorway itself is 40x40 feet. On either side of the massive doorway are two layers of tall open holes that were once windows, 10 feet wide and 30 feet tall. Broken framework remains that hints at the windows once containing colored glass murals, though it's currently impossible to make out what of.
- The engines are located in the four corners of Level 1, but not accessible in any obvious way. They are extremely large, with their width staying relatively consistent for the first 80 feet up, then rapidly narrowing until they are reduced to the small dome visible on the Level 2 - 1 map.

- Levels 1-2 through 1-5 are effectively identical. Each floor has 20 feet ceiling and a wide interior balcony with thin but sturdy stone railing. The stairs at the north are the only route between floors.
- Sub-level 1 is currently inaccessible due to the stairway down to the floor being completely filled in with stone and cement and a lack of holes along the perimeter of the building. The only indication of of this sub-level is the extra 15ish feet protruding out from the bottom of HQ and the rough outline of the stairway in the ground of Level 1.
