Levels 1 & 5
Large (for regular spiders) spiders. About 6 inches, black with orange stripes on the body and legs.
They have ten legs, and four of them actually go upward to be used for carrying large things, or they can run on them as well.
Exist in sparse numbers, but keep together in small colonies. Can turn an entire apartment into spider city if left alone. Steals still living prey from other animals and work together to cocoon it, leaving one limb free for all to feast upon.
Probably very nutritious. Also if you can find any way to sort the silk out of a cocoon it would be very strong.

BOB
❧ Bob the Blob |

Currently only 1 exists
Apartment M
Large, dark red/brown blob. Roughly five feet in every direction. Has the consistency of very dense pudding. Looks like nothing so much as a huge clot of congealed blood.
Not apparently sentient. This thing is rare and just amoebas along. It's safe to touch it carefully, but if the outer membrane is pieced the inside is very very sticky and weaker plants/creatures/people have a hard time pulling out. Will gradually digest anything that ends up inside of it. 'Sweats' a very pungent but extremely rich fertilizer.
Is slow moving, but can be 'pushed' along by wide, flat objects if the desire is to relocate it. Is fat, but can slim down to about a quarter of an inch to slowly squeeze through narrow openings. Can only be killed by cutting off cubes of it burning them separately until none is left. Cutting it directly in half will simply create two of them. And just setting it on fire will just result in a slow moving fireball that will gradually put the flames out by rolling. The stickiness inside is a lot like glue and hell to get off of just about anything. Can corrode metal if not removed quickly. Glue. Slow burning fuel great for warmth or a long but low oven/stove temperature. Could probably be altered somehow to make wax. Natural fertilizer.

INSECTS
❧ (Insect #01) |
![]() ❦❦❦❦
Level 5
Eight-inch long green caterpillars with fuzzy red hairs all over their bodies.
When touched, the hairs on their body shatter apart into sharp, tiny fragments- it's a lot like sticking your hand into a bowl of tiny glass pieces.
Once free of its hairs, the caterpillar is edible, though somewhat sour and chewy. The hair fragments can be collected and used as a weapon if you're creative.

MAMMALS
❧ Flying Porcumonkey |
![]() CREDIT
❦❦❦❦❦
Level 5
A small brown and green mammal that resembles a strange mix between a spider monkey, a porcupine, and a flying squirrel. It has elongated limbs and a furry membrane that stretches from elbow to knee. Its back is covered in green quills.
Carnivore that hunts by using its own quills as darts; the darts are coated in a paralysis poison that takes effect immediately and lasts 5-10 minutes. Generally hides itself up in the vines and will throw its quills at its prey then stalks it until the paralysis kicks in. It waits for another, bigger creature to rip into the prey before paralyzing the other predator then dashing in to eat. Very quick and agile. When attacked, it curls itself up until only its quills are visible.
The quills are only poisonous at one end and are useful for hunting. The meat of the creature is edible, but not very tasty and very stringy.

Level 5
Large rodents, about the size of a cat, with batlike ears, long whiskers and fuzzy prehensile tails. Very cute!
Gets taken in by other creatures (and stupid people). Acts adorable and harmless until it can eat your children/pets/supplies and escape into the night. Very intelligent and can open doors.
They are plump, and have fatty red meat and very soft fur. A very useful kill but can you eat something this adorable?
|
❧ Honeydillo |
![]() ❦❦❦❦
Level 5
Armadillo-like mammals the size of dogs covered in thick natural plating (like your sword is not breaking that shit thick) and sharp claws that can dig through stone. Soft underbelly. Has a pickaxe like end on its tail that is made of the same stuff as its armor (will pierce weaker armors, leaving narrow and deep holes in flesh).
Honey-badger-esque forager. Omnivore, but eats insects mostly. Will sniff out sweets and set out after them LIKE A TANK. Responds to flipping attempts by digging its claws into the ground and latching there.
The back plating is hard enough to make armor out of that's effective against Thusia nature.

❧ (Mammal #01) |
![]() ❦❦❦❦
Level 5
A ground mammal that resembles a capybara, with short auburn fur and a black ridge of fur running along their backs. There's a hard, protruding bone on their foreheads that's wide and flat.
Travel in groups of 10 or more, and while they aren't particularly fast, their hides are very hard to pierce and they're particularly stubborn. They'll charge things and butt their heads against them with a force strong enough to shatter bone.
Tasty, fatty meat.

PRIMATES
❧ Skunkey |
![]() ❦❦❦❦❦
Level 5
A long-furred monkey that gets to be about 3 feet long, excluding their tail. It's completely black except for the white fur on its face and the two white stripes running down its back. Its tail is also completely white.
Territorial herbivore capable of spraying a rancid scent from its rear in an identical fashion to a skunk. Uses the smell to mark its territory, which will generally span over two rooms. If sprayed, the scent will linger for 2 days; the only way to clean it off ahead of time is using a clump of unpurified sponge-like moss with natural water in it.
The scenting liquid of the monkey is extremely effective for driving away the emerald lizards and moss lions, but it attracts the mantis-like bugs in huge swarms.

Level 5
Small winged monkeys, no taller than a foot, with a two-foot wingspan similar to the wings of bats. They also have a long tail, double the length of their bodies, that ends in a three-taloned claw and are a dirty brown in color.
Noisy and explorative, they're quick in movement and tend to stay in high areas. However, they're very easily lured down with food, particularly fruits, but will scratch using their tail-claw when they're feeling threatened.
Edible and are comparable to eating some very fine veal. The wings in particularly are especially tasty when fried and crispy.

REPTILES
❧ Ruby/Red Lizagon |
![]() CREDIT
❦
Level 5
Ruby red dragon-like creatures with with narrow bodies, wings, and sharp, hooked talons that will let them run on any surface. Teeth are about five inches long and sharp, and their bite is poisonous, inducing fever and dizziness quickly. Has a noticeably long tail that's spiked at the end with green spikes and a much wider wing span than their smaller relative. Range in size from rhino to adult orca.
Nest in small groups spread out along the fifth level and will not travel down to the lower levels. Eat just about anything EXCEPT most basic plant life (no vines or berryless shrubs). Are capable of working together or solo. Highly intelligent and will recognize a leader in the group and follow the directions given to them by the leader.
Their scales can act as a weaker but more flexible armor. The meat is lean and gamey but edible. Have poison sacs which should be avoided on dissection or it will contaminate the meat. The poison can be used to coat blades and deal with other creatures (the dragons, however, are immune).

Level 5
Tiny, barely longer than a man’s forearm, these little snakes are light brown and banded in greys and silver.
Their fangs are like needles and can inject a paralysis that will make the prey’s limbs and body feel incredibly heavy and slow moving. Their venom is used more as a form of defense than attack.
Killing one of these gets S'vx really angry at you :)

Level 5
Black with grey patches, these snakes have black mouths with a bright red tongue and red eyes.
They are blood suckers and although they can grow up to 25 feet long, remain thin. They can stay still for hours on end but are very territorial. They catch prey by wrapping their bodies around them and then sucking blood from the body. They release a mild toxin as they bite which at first numbing, grows more painful, which causes the victim to tremble, increasing blood flow. They do not always kill their prey and it is not uncommon to see animals with the mark of their fangs.

Level 5
Bright purple with colorful blue designs on its back, this snake has beaded spines along its back, which are incredibly toxic to the touch and will cause pain and paralysis similar to a jellyfish sting.
This snake prefers to let its food soften in water and will drag prey into water to rot before eating. It’s mouth is long and lined with rows of teeth, like a shark.

❦❦❦❦
Level 5
Large, long and fat, these snakes are hooded like a cobra. Ranging 15 to 30 feet long, their colors veer closer to warm bronzes and muted gold although they are born closer to chrome. Their fangs are huge and retractable.
Their fangs hold two type of poison sacs: one which causes swelling, infection and severe pain at the location, meant to cause the prey to slow down but stay alive for freshness, and another which moves quickly and kills the flesh it flows through, causing whatever part that’s been bitten to turn black and rot off. If not treated by a god immediately, the person or animal will die painfully within minutes.

❧ Vineaconda |
![]() CREDIT
❦❦❦❦
Level 5
Anaconda-like snake. Grows to be around 30 feet long and generally shades of brown or green to blend.
Vine-colored snakes tend to drape from ceilings or in doorways and wait for creatures to get tangled in it before wrapping itself around it to suffocate the creature. Has very tough skin, similar to leather in terms of cutting difficulty.
The inner side of the snake's skin is naturally kind of sticky, but not strongly sticky. The outer side of the snake skin is impervious to liquids and heat. From this, the snake skin can be used for bandages (with a cloth) or other similar items.

FLOWERS

Levels 1, 2, & 5
The base plant resembles a large bright red dandelion; it's seed head version is also bright red.
When the plant has taken over a corpse, its most identifying features are a bright red rose-life bloom somewhere on the corpse. Cutting open the corpse will reveal brown roots in a large density.
Carnivorous plant that only grows on corpses (typically only ones with bones). Takes about two hours for a seed that's landed on an open wound to grow roots that stretch over the entire span of the corpse, under the skin, and begins to move it. Hunts down live prey to eat; the plant feeds on blood instead of water so it'll continually hunt for prey when its host's stomach is low on food to prevent it from consuming the corpse instead. Once the corpse is no longer able to move due to wear or its out of blood, the plant begins to bloom in its dandelion version instead. Takes about three days for a plant to completely drain its corpse without food.
Once purified and dried out, the roots taste like beef jerky. Can be kept and stored for an extended amount of time this way.

FUNGI
❧ (Fungi #01) |
![]() ❦❦❦❦
Level 5
A red thin plant that grows about 2-feet tall and looks like a small dead tree with its bared, short branches. At the end of each branch grows a bright white berry with a black dot, roughly the size of a marshmallow.
The plant tends to grow in dark areas with little sun. Its berries tend to move so that the 'eye' focuses on any nearby movement, in an effort by the plant to scare away predators.
The berries are squishy, chewy, and filled with a gooey red center. They're sweet with a nice bit of tang to them. The red branches are also edible and can be chewed like sugar cane, though they're more sour in flavor.

MOSS
❧ Common Moss |
![]() ❦
Level 5
Moss grows in a wide range of size, shape, color, and consistency over just about anything that holds still long enough for it to.
It grows EVERYWHERE.
Unlike its indoor relative, most moss found outdoors have relatively no uses. Some rare ones have some medicinal value, but it's difficult to distinguish them from others.

❧ Sponge Moss |
![]() CREDIT
❦
Level 5
Springy, almost spongey grey moss that grows in small clumps and sticks to whatever surface it grows on.
Absorbs high amounts of water and usually has dozens of plant seeds and dirt stuck in it. Usually found on new vines, which 'pick up' the moss and carry it with them to provide water for new plants to grow.
Sponge! Once purified. Actually works really great as a way to carry purified water.

TREES
❧ Gummelon |
![]() CREDIT
❦❦❦❦
Level 5
Brown tree with wide leaves and large tear-shaped gourds. The gourds are purple in color and grow to be roughly the size of a basketball. They're slightly hollow in the center.
The branches of the tree typically grow across the ceilings of rooms, with the gourds hanging on the branches high off the floor. The strength of the gourd and branch is strong enough to support a person's weight, so the branch must be cut in order to get the gourd.
The gourds contain a delicious/nutritious purple flesh, similar to that of a melon. They also contain a green milk-like liquid that's a bit tangy to drink but has a very calming/zenning effect on people. Lastly, the very center of the gourd has large purple seeds that can be chewed on like edible gum.

Eight exist on Level 5
Level 5
Large, twisted, dead looking tree that none-the-less grows half a dozen or so bright red fruits. The fruits are the size and shape of a mango, with soft white flesh and little green seeds. They smell faintly minty.
These trees don't do anything special, but there are only eight of them and they exist on the 5th floor. Their branches are/were decorated with windchimes made of human bone, and appear to be a part of 'burial' rites.
The trees are extremely hearty and will break many axes before they fall. The wood inside is quite alive and heals quickly. The fruit tastes as minty as it smells and if eaten will make the person feel kind of high and they will briefly have a tenuous connection with the afterlife. This means they can talk to the souls in the sky, though said souls are rarely very coherent and there is no way to control this or look for any particular soul in an endless river of them.

❦
Level 5
Ridiculously sturdy vines that twine all across the branches of the trees. Can grow to be over two feet thick.
Grows at a rate of an inch per minute (40 ft/8 hours).
Another quick way to travel around the rainforest. Also serves as quick-burning fuel, like their indoor relatives.
|
❧ Azure Vines |
![]() CREDIT
❦❦❦❦
Level 5
A thick, bright blue vine that grows entangled amongst the other vines.
When the skin of the vine is punctured, a very thick, blue liquid seeps out. The liquid solidifies into a solid gel within minutes of exposure to air.
In liquid form, it's inedible and reeks of sour milk. But once its solidified into its gel form, it has a very sweet fruity flavor and is high in vitamins/antioxidants/all that good fruit stuff.
